Abdulbashir "Jojo" Singayao Onofre
September 6, 1962 – October 5, 2025

With broken hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Abdulbashir Singayao Onofre, lovingly known as "Jojo", on October 5, 2025, in California. He was 63.

Born in Sulu, Philippines, on September 6, 1962, Jojo lived a life of strength, dedication, and deep love. He served with honor in the Philippine Air Force for 19 years, and later worked under the United Nations as a Lecturer in Armaments, Ammunition, and Explosives at the Ministry of National Defence in Ethiopia.

He was not only a serviceman and educator, but a devoted husband to Leticia Onofre, and a loving father to Zepannia and Zhekirah Marian Onofre. Jojo spent much of his life overseas, working tirelessly to provide a better future for his family. His sacrifices were endless, his love unconditional.

A graduate of FEATI University in Industrial Engineering, Jojo was a man of discipline and passion. In his younger years, he was a skilled athlete, following in the footsteps of his father, Rogelio Onofre. He enjoyed music, good company, a drink with friends, and found comfort in listening to online Catholic Masses in quiet moments. He was the kind of man who lived for others—loyal, generous, and full of heart.

To his comrades in service—thank you for standing beside him. He salutes you one last time. Hooaa!!

Jojo leaves behind a legacy of love, duty, and resilience that will live on through the lives he touched. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the lives he helped shape along the way.
