Alfredo "Freddy" Varela Lara of Vacaville, California was called home to heaven on July 27, 2024. He was born October 22, 1947 in D'Hanis, Texas but was raised in Vacaville with his family. A family that became well known and continues to be strongly rooted in the area. Those who knew him, know he was his own person, a free spirit that lived life on his own terms. He enjoyed spending time with his family, talking about CNN news with his brothers and taking trips to the casinos with his sisters.

Freddy was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo Sr. and Maria V. Lara, his sister Dominga Quintanilla, brothers Anastacio, Joe, Jimmy, and most recently his brother Domingo Lara Jr.

He is survived by his daughter Priscilla Lara, sisters Catalina Estrada and Lupe Alvarado, his brothers Tommy, Felix and Robert Lara, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and greats as well.

A graveside burial will be held at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery, 522 Elmira Rd. in Vacaville on Thursday August 8th. Services will start at approximately 11: 15 a.m. immediately following the services for his brother Domingo Lara Jr.
