Amelia Moon Fawson, 68, of Vacaville, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on July 29, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.
Amelia was born in Duchesne, Utah on December 21, 1953. She was the fourth of five daughters born to Vernon Moon - a school teacher/rancher, and Dorothy Belisle - a school teacher. She grew up in Roosevelt, Utah and graduated from Union High School in 1972. Upon graduation, Amelia was selected as Utah's female representative to join America's Youth in Concert Choir. They performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and throughout Europe. She graduated from Utah Technical College as a Certified Dental Assistant in May 1973.
On August 15, 1973, Amelia married the love of her life, Bob Fawson. They spent most their time living in Vallejo, Fairfield, and Vacaville where they raised their five children. Amelia had a passion for music and spent the last 48 years of her life teaching piano and organ. She was a skilled seamstress, sewing countless costumes, quilts, and dresses for family and friends. Family and friends loved Amelia's baking and cooking.
Amelia enjoyed serving others in the community and filled numerous leadership roles over many years within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was also a member of the International Society of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Amelia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bob; her children, Christy Martell (Eric), John Fawson (Vanessa), Angela Clemmons (Paul), David Fawson (Julie), and Paul Fawson (Nikki); 25 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Dorothy Moon, and her sister Mayna Edrington.
A viewing at 9:30am and a funeral service at 11:00am will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints meetinghouse, 480 Wrentham Dr, Vacaville, California. All are invited to join us this day as we honor and celebrate Amelia.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation in Amelia's name to cancer research.
