Andrelito Garcia Concepcion, 72, passed away at his home on May 26, 2021, in Suisun City, California, surrounded by his loving family.

Andrelito was born and raised in Cavite, Philippines, to his parents, Teofilo and Apolonia Concepcion on December 17, 1948. He proudly enlisted in the United States Navy in 1968. His military service took him all over the world from the Philippines, to several different states in the US, and Japan. While serving on several Navy ships, he worked his way up from a mess management specialist overseeing the meal service and kitchen management. Most of his adult life was spent out at sea on several Navy vessels where he received numerous accolades and service awards.

Andrelito received a Navy Unit Commendation, Kuwait Liberation Medal while serving on the USS Midway CV-41, which had an instrumental role in Operation Desert Storm. He retired his military service on the USS Independence CV-62, upon which he received the Southwest Asia Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy Commendation Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Battle "E" Ribbon and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. After thirty years of honorable duty and service, Andrelito retired from the Navy with the highest enlisted rank of Master Chief.

He met his future wife, Angelita Arguelles, at Grande Island on the Subic Bay Navy base in the Philippines. They were married on August 9, 1979, in Bremerton, Washington, where they started a family together. Upon his retirement, the family moved to Suisun City, California, where he began a new career as a kitchen supervisor at San Quentin Prison from 1999 to 2003. Eventually, Andrelito took a position as a Correctional Officer for the State of California, Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation at Solano County from 2003 to 2015 after which time he retired to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

During the latter years of his life Andrelito was very active in the Knights of Columbus, Assembly No. 51 in Fairfield-Vacaville, California. As a member of the Knights, he rose to the highest degree of the Order, a Fourth Degree Knight, which earned him the title of "Sir Knight" on May 12, 2021.

Andrelito is preceded in death by his parents, Teofilo and Apolonia; his sister, Tessie; his grandchild, Christian and his great-grandchild, Isaiah. He is survived by his six children, thirty-one grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A public visitation will be held on June 9, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Vaca Hills Chapel, 524 Elmira Road, in Vacaville, California. A Catholic mass will follow the next day, June 10, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1791 Marshall Road, in Vacaville, California. A reception will follow immediately after the service at the Hampton Inn and Suites, at 800 Mason Street in Vacaville, California.

A graveside service and burial with full military honors will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, at 5810 Midway Road, in Dixon, California.
