Angela Davidson Weinzinger passed away, unexpectedly, in her home in Vacaville, CA on the evening of September 26, 2018, at the age of 51. She was born in Mesa, Arizona on July 19, 1967, to J. Stephen and Judith Davidson and was the first born out of eight children. When Angela was a baby, the family moved to Utah, then San Diego, Fairfield, and finally settled down in Vacaville, CA in 1975 where they stayed until the children were grown. Angela graduated with honors from Vacaville High School, class of 1985 and then attended Northern Arizona University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene in 1991. Three weeks after graduation, she married her sweetheart Evan, a Navy Veteran, on May 31, 1991 in the Mesa, Arizona Latter Day Saint temple. After six years, battling with infertility, Angela and Evan were finally blessed with their first child, Forest, in 1997, followed by Kaila, in 1999, and Lauren in 2002. Being a mother was her greatest pride and joy. She spent countless hours helping out at their schools and cheering them on in their extra curricular activities. Family was definitely her first priority.

As a lifelong active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Angela happily served as a volunteer in many different capacities, including many years in the church choir, an advisor to the young women, and her latest and favorite calling, teacher in the Relief Society women's organization. Her faith was strong and her love of family undeniable. In her own words, "I am a Latter Day Saint woman and I will not be moved by the world."

Angela had many powerful beliefs and convictions. She was actively involved in fighting for what she believed in. After finding out about Common Core and how it was being used in public education in December of 2012, she made it her mission to fight to over turn it. Starting a Facebook group was a big part of this battle, and now it has over 9,000 members from all over the world.

All of Angela's 25 year, professional career was spent working as a Dental Hygienist in Vacaville, CA. She recently retired after having been diagnosed with Familial Cardiomyopathy in 2014 that was complicated by her Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Angela was referred to the same heart transplant team that her mother and sister, Lisa, have been seeing for over 20 years at Kaiser Santa Clara. The heart transplant team has been like family to her, especially Dr. Nishime. It was soon recommended that she be placed on the heart transplant list. Being on the transplant list, presented several challenges, such as not being able to travel long distances and having to endure many complicated treatments to try to make her body suitable to receive a transplanted heart. Unfortunately, the treatments didn't work and after being on the transplant list for a year, she decided, after much thought and prayer, to remove her name from the transplant list. She handled her health challenges with incredible strength, grace and faith, never allowing anything to get in the way of the things she wanted to accomplish. Although, she retired from dental hygiene due to her health concerns, she remained active in her church and community until the very end. In 2011, she ran for School Board in her children's school district, Travis Unified, and won. She served on the school board since then and was elected as the Board of Trustees' President from 2015-2016. She was well respected and loved by her board colleagues, who always enjoyed the delightful comaraderie, which was heightened by Angela's friendly demeanor. Angela spent the last few days of her life in service, advocating for the students of Travis Unified School District, at the NAFIS (National Association of Federally Impacted Schools) Conference in Washington D.C.

Angela is survived by: husband, Evan Weinzinger; three children, Forest Weinzinger, Kaila Weinzinger, and Lauren Weinzinger; one brother and five sisters, Wendy (Russ) Gentry, Lisa Davidson Maslen, Melia Davidson Starr, Char (Oliver) Tanner, Trent (Emily) Davidson, and Mary (Justin) Prillwitz, a sister-in-law, Bridget King Davidson, and many nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents, J. Stephen and Judith Davidson and her brother, Mark Davidson.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 11 am (viewing from 9:30-10:30 am) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 480 Wrentham Drive, Vacaville, CA.
