Carol Johnson, 83, of Vacaville CA, passed away on July 14, 2024 with her two children by her side after a 4 year battle with dementia.

Carol was born on May 2, 1941 to Romela ( Regalia) Sohn in San Rafael CA. Carol graduated from Napa High School in 1958. After graduating, she started her first job at Pacific Bell as an operator until marrying in 1959. Carol went on to have 2 children, Jenine (Monty) Fortney and Scott Ohlhausen. She would become a stay at home mom until the children became school aged. She then began to substitute as a secretary for Vacaville Unified School District. In 2001 Carol retired from Travis Unified School District after many years as secretary in multiple positions ending with the Transportation Department.

After Carol retired, she spent her time involved in Red hats society, taking buss adventures to play slot machines, bunco, and telling absolutely crazy stories to her grandchildren.

Carol was predeceased by her second husband Max Johnson, mother Romela (Regalia) Sohn, stepfather Edison Sohn, and favorite aunt Edna Bess. She is survived by her cousin Jeff Bess, grandchildren Brett (Samantha) Fortney, Shawn Ohlhausen, Chad Fortney, and Shalyn (Steven) Rodriguez.

Carol will be laid to rest in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite charities.
