A Mass of Catholic Burial for Catherine Eve Vargas, 83 of Vacaville, will be Monday, Sept. 25, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vacaville. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Larry at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.  A viewing will take place Sunday evening, Sept. 24 ^th from 5-8 P.M. with Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home.

Catherine passed away on September 10, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Denver, Colorado on May 1, 1934 to Trinidad and Julia Martinez.

Catherine, affectionately known as "Grams" was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, bingo, shopping, making jewelry, and watching NCIS and the SF Giants.  She loved to sit outside and admire her garden.

Catherine is survived by her son, Steve and wife Nancy Vargas; daughter, Theresa and husband Chris Jones; son-in-law, Gary Buckhammer; daughter-in-law, Dawnie Vargas; grandchildren, Lauren, Monica, Vanessa, Timothy James "T.J.", Jourdon, and KC; great grandchildren, Merrick, Lyra, Raelynn, Connor, Ryder, Quention, Madisynn, and Colin.

She was preceded in death by husband, Larry; daughter, Linda; and son, Tim.
