Obituary

Chuck Doyel, aged 72, passed away on June 23, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.

Chuck was born at Travis Air Force Base on September 27, 1951, to Chuck & Dana Doyel of Vallejo, CA. He had 2 sisters: Charla and Kathy.

On August 2, 1975, Chuck drove to a party in Vacaville and met his soulmate, Kristie Mudgett. They decided to get married after only a week of dating and married 11 weeks later on October 18, 1975. Their daughter Erin was born a month before their first anniversary. They bought their first home in Suisun City in 1977 and then had their son Ryan in 1978. Chuck realized a dream when he opened his automotive repair shop nearby.

They moved to Vacaville in 1986 & Chuck worked in the maintenance department at the City of Vacaville for about 10 years, then went to work for Derek DaCosta's Auto World in Fairfield until his retirement.

Chuck loved his family, his friends, and fast cars! He built a drag racing car that he and his best friend John Hall had a lot of fun with. His son Ryan followed in his dad's footsteps and raced cars.

Chuck was the most loyal, sincere, and selfless person who always put everyone else first. He and Kristie enjoyed their yearly trips with John & Helen Hall, which included road trips to Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, The Grand Canyon, Hawaii, cruises to Mexico and Alaska, and so many more. He and Kristie also enjoyed the history in cemeteries, photographing and making memorials for the National Veterans Cemetery in Dixon and other cemeteries.

Chuck is survived by his wife Kristie, daughter Erin, son Ryan (Sarah), and 9 grandchildren: Mary Doyel-Crabbe (Matthew), Adrienne Davenport, Brandon Doyel, Bennie Doyel, Stevie Davenport, Lily Davenport, Aliina Doyel, Warren Doyel, and Charlie Davenport - who was born on Chuck's birthday and named after him.
