Obituary

Crystal Gayle Hedrick
August 27th, 1976 - September 29th, 2025

Crystal Gayle Hedrick, 49, of Vacaville, California, passed away suddenly on September 29,2025.

Crystal was born on August 27th in Fort Knox, Kentucky, and lived a life rich in love, kindness, compassion, and unwavering loyalty to her family and friends. She graduated from Will C. Wood High School in 1995. A lifelong learner, she earned several associate degrees across various fields. She also went on to become a licensed esthetician. No matter where she worked, Crystal had a natural ability to connect with others and form quick friendships. Her warmth and sincere interest in people left a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Crystal cherished the people in her life above all else. Her greatest joy came from the love she shared with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Vicky Gayle Hedrick. She is survived by her devoted husband, Lennis Williams-Hedrick; her loving father, Donald Guy Hedrick; her sister, Tamara Nichole Ewert; her brothers, Donald Jerimiah Hedrick and Carl E. Ewert; her cousin, Morgan Lee Hedrick; her nephew, Carl Fillip Ewert; and her nieces, Tessa Gayle Ewert, Aliya Marie Hedrick, and Paige Nichole Ewert. In addition to her immediate family, Crystal leaves behind a large extended family and many dear friends—too numerous to name—each of whom deeply feels the weight of her loss.

Crystal had a deep love for adventure and was always on the move, planning her next getaway. Whether it was a simple day trip to a local attraction, a weekend escape to nearby destinations, or a more elaborate journey, she found joy in exploring new places. She especially cherished the annual family trips to Disneyland, road trips, and cruises—but truthfully, any vacation brought her happiness. Traveling wasn't just about the destination for Crystal; it was about making memories with the people she loved.

She was also a natural and enthusiastic party planner who never let an important moment go uncelebrated. Crystal always seemed to know the perfect theme for every occasion, and she brought boundless energy to pulling each celebration together. From decorations to details, she made sure everything felt just right—but most importantly, she knew how to gather the people who mattered most. Her parties weren't just events; they were heartfelt expressions of love, joy, and connection.

One of the most important roles in Crystal's life was being a "Daunty" (aunt) to her nieces and nephew—a title she wore with immense pride and unconditional love. She loved them as deeply as if they were her own children. Crystal never missed a meaningful moment in their lives, showing up for countless games, performances, award ceremonies, recitals, and graduations. She celebrated every milestone with joy and was their biggest cheerleader in both the big moments and the small, everyday victories. Whether it was offering a listening ear, giving thoughtful advice, or simply being present, she made sure they always knew how deeply they were loved. Crystal was endlessly proud—not only of who they are today, but of the kind, strong, and thoughtful individuals they are still becoming. Her presence in their lives was a gift they will carry with them forever.

The tragic loss of someone who touched so many lives and was loved so deeply is difficult to comprehend. We hope the memories we hold of the time spent with Crystal will bring comfort and peace to all who knew her.
