Daniel C. Chávez, loving father and friend to many, passed away peacefully on December 10 ^th 2019, at the age of 94.

Daniel was a resident of Vacaville. He was born in Orange, California.  During his childhood, he resided in Encarnación de Diáz, Jalisco, Mexico then returned to California as a young man.  Daniel spent many years fighting fires for the Department of Forestry all over the western US. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, eating great food, listening to music and being with family.  He was also an avid Giants and 49er fan.  He especially loved photographing and displaying pictures of family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents José and Zeniada Chávez; 2 sisters Elvira and Guadalupe; brother Manuel; Son-in-Law Tony, 2 Grandsons Anthony and Mark and many other family and friends.

He is survived by his ex-spouse Clara Borbon, 5 children Daniel (Mary), José Manuel, Adaline, Cathleen, and Gilbert (Angel); 3 step-children Yolanda (Michael), Hector (Josie), and Esther (Sue); 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Jenoveva and Carmella, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Viewing/Rosary will be held on December 22 at Vaca Hills Chapel in Vacaville from 5-8 pm.  Mass will be held on December 23 ^rd at St Mary's in Vacaville at 10 am with a reception to follow.
