Daniel "Dan" Tiong Peña, 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones in Sacramento, California, on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

Born on September 2, 1953, in Olongapo City, Philippines, Dan was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose love for his family was evident in everything he did.

Dan proudly served in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1995. Following his retirement from military service, he continued to enjoy the many things he loved most in life - traveling, attending his grandchildren's events and games, and spending quality time with the people he loved most.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Teresita Peña; his daughters, Christine Peña, Valerie Contawe (Aaron Contawe), and Kathleen Peña; and his six grandchildren, Justin Eccles, Leah Eccles, Josh Eccles, Jaden Peña, Davin Contawe, and Zoë Contawe.

Dan will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the love and support he gave so freely to those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
