David Clarence Hoff, 94, of Vacaville, went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2025. He peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
David was born in 1930 to August and Bertha (Bunk) Hoff in Hebron, ND. His parents moved him and his five siblings to Montana, finally settling in Vallejo, CA.
In 1946, at the age of 16, David enlisted in the Army Air Corps, fibbing about his age to join WWII. He completed his high school education in Hawaii before being stationed in the Marshall Islands as an air traffic controller. He worked at Mcclellan AFB and TAFB. He found his passion as an electrician for IBEW Local Union 180.
David met the love of his life, Doris J. Hill, in 1950 in Vallejo, CA. They fell in love and were married two months later. They went on to share an incredible life together, having two children, Susan Marie and David Dennis.
David was a man of deep faith, perseverance, and expressed gratitude for his many blessings. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He was known for his ingenuity, funny sense of humor, and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Dave is predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris, his daughter Susan Nancett, his son David Hoff, his parents, and four siblings. Dave is survived by his brother Paul Hoff, grandchildren Julie Harris, Amber Cargo-Reed, Marty Nancett, son in law, Marc Reed, eight great-grandchildren, James Patrick, Aura Rae, James Hoff, Lloyd Cargo V, Mark Harris, Joshua Reed, Arabella Reed, Sofia Reed, six great-great-grandchildren, nieces Tamara, Pam, Cindy, nephew Gordon. David had a large family and many friends. He was everyone's Father & " Grandpa " and will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held on June 20, 2025, at Vaca Hills Chapel, 524 Elmira Road, Vacaville, CA 95687. The service will begin at 11 am and end at 12:45 pm. A graveside ceremony will be held at 1 pm at the Vaca Cemetery. The reception will be announced at the service.
