Obituary

Eleanor (Elle) Cullum passed away suddenly but peacefully at the age of 91. She had lived almost her entire life in Fairfield, CA and moved last year to Cogir of Vacaville, a senior living community.

At Cogir, she had a beautiful view from her open patio to grapevines and colorful gardens. She loved sitting outside, enjoying the quiet time, sunny weather and watching the birds. She appreciated her peaceful setting for her final days in Vacaville.

Elle was born in Suisun City and grew up in Fairfield. She graduated from Armijo High School. Her parents, Joe and Isabelle Lozano started Joe's Buffet, a local favorite lunch restaurant in 1953. The restaurant is still thriving with the same name, new owner and is still a popular lunch establishment.

Elle married her high school sweetheart, Lyle Cullum in 1953. She was married 61 years until his passing in 2014. They had three children, Rod, Jerry and Lorie. Elle was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, doing crafts, traveling and playing golf. She and Lyle were part of a golfing group of friends that traveled throughout the US.

Elle's son, Jerry, was born with Down Syndrome. She became very involved in the local association supporting the special needs population. Elle was a Board of Directors member for Pace Solano for many years serving adults with disabilities. She helped to create opportunities to integrate this population into the community.

She was proud of her Spanish heritage. Her parents migrated from Spain to the Fairfield area. She enjoyed making Spanish cookies every year for the holidays to carry on her Spanish traditions

Elle is survived by her son, Rod and daughter, Lorie. Grandchildren: Brian, Scott, Matt, Mark and Petie. Great- grandsons: James and Bennett.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Isabelle Lozano, husband, Lyle Cullum, son, Jerry Cullum and brother Bob Lozano.

Elle had requested that when she passed to be laid to rest with her husband and son at the Rockville Cemetery on a sunny day surrounded by her immediate family. She requested that Rev. Blane Ellsworth, a long-time friend, officiate the service.

A private graveside service was held on April 9 at Rockville Cemetery, with her immediate family on a sunny day. Rev. Blane Ellsworth gave a beautiful eulogy.

May Elle rest in peace.
