Obituary

In Memory of
Elisabeth G. Brady
October 1924 – March 2018
Elisabeth's story began in Bavaria, Germany, in October 1924. When she was a small child her
family emigrated to the United States, travelling via steam ship to New York and on to
California by train. Settling in San Francisco, she grew up in the Mission District and graduated
from Immaculate Conception Academy. She met our dad, Cormac, in the neighborhood and
they married in 1948. They went on to raise four children. When our dad retired, they moved
to Santa Rosa where they enjoyed many happy years, joining in church activities and attending
symphonies and operas. Elisabeth's hobbies were sewing, gardening and photography. In 2008
they moved to Vacaville to be closer to our families, where they enjoyed living at Brookdale.
Our dad passed away in 2009, and Elisabeth is now survived by her family: Michael (Terry)
Brady, Therese (Jim) Matusek, Anna (Carlos) Silva, and David (Imelda) Brady; grandchildren
Adam Moreno, Graciela and Erick Brady, and Peggy Brady; and great-grandsons Colin and Ethan
Moreno, as well as cousins in Germany.
We would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living for their extremely kind and
sensitive caring for our mom during the last few months—you are truly angels.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday, March 23, at 1:30 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Vacaville,
followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 2:00. A Catholic Prayer Service will be held at the Holy
Cross Cemetery Chapel in Colma, on Monday, March 26, at 1:30 P.M.. If you would like to make a
donation on her behalf, she strongly supported the Hanna Boys Center in Sonoma, CA.
