Elvie Alejado Young, a woman whose life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to others, entered into eternal rest on May 9, 2026. Born in Toledo City, Philippines, on September 9, 1971, Elvie's journey touched countless lives across continents, leaving behind a legacy of compassion that will endure forever. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Kiana Young, and devoted husband, Jack Young, who was her life companion and soulmate. One of nine children, Elvie was born to Ernesto and Norberta Alvez, both of whom have preceded her in death. She also leaves behind five beloved siblings: Wade, Gunder, Jovai, Wyn, and Earl. Two brothers also went before her. Elvie was a cherished mother, a perfect wife, and the heart of her family—a testament to what it means to love without condition.

Her life was one of remarkable movement and connection. After studying Computer Science in college, she embarked on a journey that would take her far beyond the Philippines. It was in Reykjavik, Iceland, that she met Jack, beginning a relationship built on genuine love and deep affection that would span the globe. Together, they called many places home—from Yokota, Misawa, and Yokosuka in Japan, to Pyeongtaek in South Korea, Lakenheath in England, Tucson in Arizona, and Vacaville in California. In every place they lived, Elvie became beloved by all who knew her, and Jack stood by her side as she shared her light with the world.

For twenty years, Elvie served as a dedicated care provider for children, pouring her heart into nurturing the next generation. Her empathy, patience, and genuine warmth made her not just a caregiver, but a second mother to many. Yet her greatest gift was her selflessness. For decades, she continued to provide for her family back home in the Philippines, including supporting her parents, demonstrating a filial piety and generosity without bounds.

Elvie was known for her infectious laughter, her love of dance, and a smile that could melt the hardest of hearts. She was the kind of person who was always liked, never disliked—a rare soul who brought light wherever she went. Her kindness was not performative; it was woven into the fabric of who she was. She gave without expecting return, loved without reservation, and lived with a compassion that inspired everyone fortunate enough to know her, especially Jack, who will miss her dearly.

A Viewing will be held for Elvie Young from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, with a Rosary service at 6:00 P.M., at the Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home located at 524 Elmira Road in Vacaville, California.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, located at 1791 Marshall Road in Vacaville, California.

Following the mass, the Burial will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, located at 5810 Midway Road in Dixon, California.

Reception to follow Burial at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the Young's residence; 2407 Amapola Drive, Davis, California.
