Ethel Vivian (Burge) Herguth, 92, (or as she would say 92 and a half), of Vacaville, passed away on February 25, 2022.

Ethel was born on August 17, 1929, to Albert and Inez Burge in Ft. Lupton, Colorado. After graduating as valedictorian from Ft. Lupton High School she married her brother Gene's Navy buddy, Robert Herguth, whom she had been pen pals with during the war.

They were wed in 1947, going on to have 4 children, Mike, Nancy, Bill and Renae.

Ethel dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother.  She excelled at providing interesting and stimulating activities for her children and she supported them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was facing the challenge of supporting Nancy through polio or Renae's premature birth, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others.

Ethel was a passionate homemaker and when she wasn't filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found square dancing, painting, or exploring some new adventure that her family could enjoy. She was instrumental in the formation of Herguth Associates and Herguth Laboratories, even creating our first logo. We will miss her greatly.

Ethel was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Inez, her brothers, Don and Gene, her sister, Alberta, her daughter Nancy, and her husband Bob.  She is survived by her children, Mike (Karen), Bill (Kathy), Renae (Dennis), and her grandchildren, Kim, Paul, Jami, Jason, Ehren, Sean and Michael, many great grandchildren and even some great-great grandchildren.

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Vaca Hills Chapel, 524 Elmira Road, Vacaville, Ca, 95687. There will be a funeral service at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 15, at the Chapel.  Viewing is open from 10:00 AM until noon.
