Gerald K Zane passed away on August 16, 2020, three days after his 90th Birthday in Stockton, CA with his wife Lisa at his side after succumbing to cancer. Born on August 13, 1930 China, he spent his teens in Honolulu, Hawaii and served in the United States Army from 1951-1957 as a Technical Sergeant. Gerald decided on a career with American President Line Ltd. where he traveled the world as a purser.

With a feisty and gregarious personality, Gerald made friends everywhere he traveled. He was an intelligent and generous individual that loved celebrating life with food and friends, including the four legged friends; all dogs loved him! "I remember when Uncle Gerald visited Honolulu, our dog would follow him everywhere; he would tease her and play hide & seek", said Audrey, Gerald's niece, "he would take me and my friends out to good Chinese dinners when his (APL) ship was docked at the Port of Seattle".

He is survived by his wife Lisa YL Zane, his older brother Donald and younger sister Joanna in Honolulu, Hawaii. Gerald was predeceased by his eldest brother Andrew.

Service for Gerald Zane will be on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 with full military honors in a private graveside service at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. The funeral, viewing and graveside services will be following current COVID-19 guidelines in place by San Joaquin County.
