Guillermo Sablan
Cruz
Nov 15, 1937 — Mar 27, 2026
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Guillermo S. Cruz, lovingly known as "Beach" and "Gen," who passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, at the age of 88 in Cape Coral, Florida. He was surrounded by his family.
Guillermo was a longtime resident of Vacaville, California, where he lived for over 30 years and built a life filled with cherished memories and lasting relationships.
Born on November 15, 1937, in Agana, Guam, he was the eldest son of Ignacio and Emilia Cruz. He graduated from George Washington High School and proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country from July 8, 1957, until his retirement on December 11, 1978.
Following his military service, Guillermo continued his dedication to public service by working for over 20 years with the United States Postal Service in Concord, California.
He married his beloved spouse, Paciencia, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage, building a life centered on love, family, and enduring commitment.
He was known for his high-spirited love of life and his joy in cooking for others, always bringing people together through his generosity. A proud Navy warrior, he carried that spirit of resilience and determination into everything he did, persevering through life's challenges with strength and character. In his free time, he found happiness in bowling, preparing meals for loved ones, and watching boxing—simple pleasures that reflected his vibrant and enduring spirit.
Guillermo leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and humor that will be cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his beloved spouse, Paciencia; his four children, Carolina Gonzalez, Gregory Cruz, David Cruz, and Patrick Cruz; his grandchildren, Cherelle, Mercedes, Christian, Gabriele, Brandon, Kaile, and Khloe; and his two great-grandchildren, Landon and Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio and Emilia Cruz, and his brother, Wilfredo Cruz.
