Helen Arlene Rooney, a proud U.S. Air Force veteran and longtime Vacaville resident, passed away on March 31, 2025, in Vacaville, California, at the age of 101. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 10, 1923, Helen served her country with distinction as a Registered Nurse in the United States Air Force for 24 years, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 1977. She was a dedicated member of the Air Force Nurses Society and an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Helen called Vacaville home for over 50 years. Her strength, service, and faith touched many lives. Helen is preceded in death by her cherished sister, Charlotte and her beloved mother, Lena. A private interment with military honors will take place at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Baraboo, Wisconsin, on June 7, 2025.
