Herbert Michael Loedding, known as Mike to his friends and family, passed away in Vacaville, CA on June 27, 2025, at the age of 82, due to Alzheimer's Disease. Born in 1943 in Sewickley, PA, Mike was raised in Sewickley and Ambridge, PA, where he attended St. Mary's and Ambridge High Schools.

Mike served in the US Army from 1961 to 1964 and later joined the US Air Force in 1965, serving as an aircraft mechanic until his retirement in 1982. He married Linda Mutschler in 1965, and they had a son, James Arthur Loedding, in 1966. After their divorce in 1980, Mike married Kathy Abreu in 1982, becoming a stepfather to Cynthia, Alicia, and Charles. He and Kathy remained happily married until her passing in 1999.

Mike worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer with Explosive Technology/OEA Aerospace in Fairfield, CA, from 1984 until his disability in 2000. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Fairfield, CA, and remained active in the church until entering memory care in 2022.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Alice, his brother Pete, his second wife Kathy, and stepdaughter Cynthia. He is survived by his son James Loedding, stepchildren Charles and Alicia, brother Robert Loedding, and sisters Sue McHugh and Mary Alice Sells.

In accordance with his wishes, Mike will be buried with military honors at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 10, 2025. There will be no viewing.
