Iva Dean Ritchie, age 74, died on Monday, June 18, 2018, in the Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center, after her 40 year battle with cancer. She was born in Visalia, California, on March 19, 1944, to Pearl and Floye Davenport. Upon graduating from Live Oak High School, she attended beautician school and used those skills at a hair salon in Marysville, California, until she met and married her husband, Robert, in 1965, while he served in the United States Air Force at Beale Air Force Base. Robert and Iva moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1966, where they raised two children, Robert Jr. and Cheryl. Iva continued to work in the beauty industry until she began working as a clerk for the San Mateo County court system in 1989. Iva retired from San Mateo County in 1999. Robert and Iva were long time residents of Solano County, and were married for 53 years.
Iva is survived by her husband, Robert; her two children, Robert Ritchie, Jr. (and his wife Patricia), and Cheryl Rubio (and her husband Richard); her three grandchildren, Krislyn McSherry, Damian Concepcion, and Anelle Concepcion; and two great grandchildren, Rey and Braelynn. Iva's father, mother, and sister Dorothy preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 480 Wrentham Drive, Vacaville, California. Prior to the service, a viewing will take place at 9:00 a.m. in the Relief Society Room at the church. She will be laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
