Jack Lambert Olmsted, born on July 31, 1937, in Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on June 10, 2025. Raised on a farm in Macedonia, Iowa, Jack moved with his family to Oakland and later Ames, Iowa, after the tragic passing of his father. He graduated from Ames High School in 1956 and married his high school sweetheart, Janet Hohenshell, in 1957. The couple settled in San Rafael, California, where Jack began his career in the insurance industry.

Jack worked for Farm Bureau as an insurance agent and later partnered with Don Miller & Associates in Davis, CA. He was an active sports enthusiast, participating in waterskiing, windsurfing, snow skiing, and bicycling, and won numerous trophies in Senior Triathlon tournaments.

Jack was deeply involved in his community, contributing to various organizations such as Suisun Valley 4-H, Armijo Alumni Sports Club, and the Davis Kiwanis. He was also a Director on the Dixon May Fair Board.

After the passing of his first wife, Jan, in 1991, Jack married Maggi Sage, and they made their home in Vacaville, CA. In 2022, they moved to Magnolia Assisted Living, and after Maggi's passing in 2024, Jack relocated to Farmstead Assisted Living in Dixon, CA.

Jack is survived by his children Mike (Brenda) Olmsted; Mark (Stephanie) Olmsted; Son-in-law Dean Craft, and Grandchildren Zachary (Courtney) Craft, Lucas (Nicole) Craft and Lindsay Welsh.  Jack was preceded in death by his sister Peggy Parker, and most recently his loving daughter Michelle Craft who passed in February 2025. Jack was also very close to Maggi's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 4th, 2025, at 2pm at The Mission Church in Vacaville, CA.
