James L. Babcock passed away peacefully at age 80, on October 5, 2021 after a long illness.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Margaret Babcock, his first wife Anna, and his sister Peggy. He is survived by his wife Hi Sook, his sister Marilyn, and his five sons: Mitch (Kelli), Henry, Kelly, Mark and Jesse.

He had 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and other extended family members. He also had 2 step-daughters Michele (Tab) and Kelly (Ed) and 4 step-grandchildren.

Jim joined the US Navy at age 17 after growing up in Dunkirk, IN. He served 21 years before retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He then worked for the Times-Herald before starting his own successful businesses. Jim loved traveling, camping, cooking out and spending time with his family and friends playing dominos.

Services are private. He will be laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
