Obituary

James "Jim" Emanuel
October 21, 1947 – January 26, 2025

James Emanuel, known to all as Jim, passed away peacefully at the age of 77. Born in Los Angeles, CA, Jim was a beacon of kindness and gratitude throughout his life. For the past 15 years, he proudly called Vacaville his home, where his warm spirit and compassionate nature enriched the lives of everyone he encountered.

A devoted son, brother, husband, and friend, Jim served his country with honor in the United States Air Force from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1981. His 15 years of active duty stand as a proud testament to his love for the Air Force—a commitment that continued throughout his life through his involvement with the 355th Fighter Association, the American Legion, the Air Force Association, and as a life member of the DAV.

A man of deep faith and gratitude, Jim was a lifelong member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Los Angeles. As his wife, Connie, lovingly shared:
"Jim was kind, respectful, loving and always grateful for everything he had. He never met a stranger and was quick to tell people how much he appreciated what they were doing for him. He loved God and knew every day how blessed he was. He loved the Air Force and was very proud to have served 15 years of active duty. He and I were devoted to each other for over 25 years. He has left a great legacy and will be forever remembered and greatly missed."

Jim's legacy extends to his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Connie Pollock, his children Will Pollock and Jennifer Gill, and his siblings Ron Emanuel, Rich Emanuel, Patty Pierce, Christine Gernant, and Mary Emanuel Mitchell. His memory lives on in his 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, who will continue to be inspired by his generous heart and kind spirit.
In honor of Jim's memory, the family suggests that charitable donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, a cause close to his heart.
