Obituary

James (Jim) William Brearley was quietly called Home by the Lord Jesus Christ on the morning of May 30, 2022. Born on December 22, 1946, he was 75 years old.
Jim leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Pamela; son, David and his wife, Gina; son, Adam and his wife, Lindsay; daughter, Sarah; five grandchildren, Madison, Gavin, Mason, Hailey, Morgan; and his sisters, Judy, Debbie, Donna, Vickie and Norma Jean. He had a 35 year career with Kaiser Permanente as a Radiology Equipment Technician.
Jim enjoyed camping and fishing and was happiest when the whole family went camping with best friends at Coloma on the American River. After he and Pam retired, word quickly spread in the neighborhood that there was a "bike man" living in the park. His reputation rapidly spread for doing repairs and tire changes for anyone who asked, or if not asked, he would offer – supplying the parts and labor for free. He loved people and was known for his willingness and desire to help everyone. He was a great cook – main dishes and desserts were his specialty. Jim also developed a passion for rock collecting on his own property. He chose only the rocks that were unique and interesting to him. Eventually, his collection of rocks expanded into the house onto windowsills, table tops, microwave tops, TV cabinets, bedroom nightstands, dressers and of course into his jacket and pant pockets. Jim left a mark on everyone he knew. He had a great sense of humor, was happy, caring, helpful and most of all lovable.
With encouraging words from Pastor Curtis Miller of New Hope Christian Fellowship in Vacaville, Jim was laid to rest with military honors at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. But when we reunite in Heaven, we will see him again. Hopefully it will have bikes needing repair and lots of rocks….

See you "in the morning," Jim. What a glorious day that will be!
