Jose Omegar Vasquez, born in Fairfield, CA on September 24, 1948. Passed away of natural causes on May 16, 2023 in Amarillo, TX at the age of 74.

Jose was called to walk those golden streets with our Lord in Heaven. His final days were spent surrounded by his loved ones, which he touched in a very special way. His life was filled with love and happiness that will be remembered forever.

Jose's life would seem short to so many; however, many who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence exceeds the quality of time in which one lives. His gentle smile and his relaxing laugh, including his jokester self, was a comfort to all in so many ways.

He was a Christian man of God, who soon came to realize the meaning of salvation and the trust in the Lord. Even through his last breaths. He was a hardworking man. Devoted to his family and helping others in need. He enjoyed traveling to visit his family and friends, appreciating every special moment.

Jose was survived by his ex-wife Rosa Garcia and his four children, Cruz, David, Norma, & Juan Vasquez, his nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was also survived by his wife Martha Carreon and his three step children, Adrian, Cecilia and Cynthia & step grandchildren. Jose was also survived by his five brothers, Alfonso, Ricardo, Macario, Isidro & Manuel Chavolla and three sisters, Olga, Joesfina & Graciela Chavolla. Along with many nieces and nephews.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Crispin & Cruzita Chavolla, his brother David Chavolla, his son, Jose Vasquez Jr., and his daughter, Norma Alica Vasquez.
