Obituary

Earth has said goodbye to another beautiful soul. Joven Masao Henry passed away on February 26th, 2022. He was seventeen years old. He was born January 16th 2005, and he was a happy and loving child with a contagious smile that could melt your heart.
Joven was a junior at Vanden High School in Fairfield, California and he made friends throughout school and in the Goldridge neighborhood. He will be remembered by his many loving attributes, such as his profound connection to creativity and music. At a young age, Joven cultivated a strong passion for the arts. He created his own music and collaborated with his brothers in creating a full score. He played clarinet for eight years, guitar for six years, and hummed songs from his band class as he walked around with his friends in the neighborhood. Joven was also a skilled gamer who would often take his gaming skills online. His interest in art also led him to making short skit videos with his friends and drawing characters. Joven was also very compassionate. He cared for and tended to the stray cats in his neighborhood by leaving them food. In addition, he protected the snails from crossing the sidewalk to the doorway of his home. It was his nature to believe every living thing deserved to live. A fearless walker and hiker, unflappable and clam under pressure, Joven would travel for miles until he couldn't go any further.
Joven is survived by his mother Shaunda Henry, his father Ian Henry, his brothers Julian Henry, Jayden Henry, Noel Maristela, and his boston terrier Pokey, in addition to his countless aunties, uncles, and cousins in the United States, Philippines, Japan, and Jamaica, and many loving friends in Solano county, and many more throughout the world that he met through his online presence. Joven will be missed by many people and forgotten by no one who had their paths lightened by his loving smile.
Donations are encouraged to any suicide awareness or inclusive charitable organizations. A Celebration of Life is taking place March 26th, 2022 at 1pm at the Gary Falati neighborhood park, 5100 Falati Lane, Fairfield, California. Cremation and mortuary services completed by Vaca Hills Chapel in Vacaville, California. He will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery in Vallejo, California on a hill next to a pond similar to the hills he loved to explore.
