Judith Elma Smelser born February 2, 1940 in Isleton, CA passed away in Vacaville, CA on June 2, 2020.

She was loving mother to son, David Smelser and daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Dennis Brito.  Dear sister to Robert and Sharon Baroni, loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren and she will be missed by all of her extended family.    Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Lucia Baroni, by her husband, Warren Smelser and by her sister, Bonnie Stewart.

Judy was a devoted wife, nurturing mother and faithful friend.  She loved children and spent several years providing care for children of friends, family and neighbors.  She loved family gatherings, cooking, gardening, reading, discussing politics and watching TV, mostly the news and Jeopardy.  She was very intelligent, not afraid to voice her opinion and you always knew where you stood with her.  She was a skilled homemaker, always making sure that her husband and children had what they needed and wanted.  She will be missed by many, most of all by her children.

Special thanks to:  Linda De Mello, Blanca Henderson and Lynn Alexander for taking the time to visit Mom so often, it meant a lot to us and to her.   To Vaca Valley Living staff for taking such good care of her for the last few months, to Dr. Jau Lee and Jennifer Ramos for working closely together to ensure Mom was getting the care she needed and to Vitas Healthcare for their hospice care.

A celebration of life will occur at a later date due to COVID-19.
