Julio Sandoval; also known by many as Sandy, of Fairfield, California passed away on April 18th, 2023 at the age of 89.

Julio was born on June 22nd, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas where he was raised by his grandparents. Julio joined the Air Force at the age of 21, where he became a career firefighter. He was discharged after serving his 4 year term, but seeing how different life was outside of the military, he quickly re-enlisted and served another 16 years. He was immensely proud to have served 20 years in the Air Force and was even prouder to be a Vietnam Veteran. Julio always boasted that the best thing that happened to him during his military career, was being stationed in Italy in 1961, meeting the love of his life; Anna Turchet, and getting married 1 year later. Together they had 3 children and moved to Fairfield, California, where they settled down in 1974.

You could always find Sandy on base shopping for his wife, or spending time with his grandchildren. He was a true family man, and was always eager to help his family in any way he could, and was the best version of himself in their presence. Some of his hobbies included; being an avid collector, collecting watches, coins, and radios, along with fishing with his family at Grizzly Island and Rio Vista. He enjoyed sitting in his garage cleaning his car with his radio on, always playing some of his favorite western artists, Marty Robbins and Johnny Cash. Though arguably his most favorite hobby was the weekly casino trips he took with his wife and daughter, to enjoy some much needed time out of the house.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years; Anna Sandoval, loving daughter Donna Sandoval Santos, sons Mark and Jimmy Sandoval, his 8 grandchildren; Rex, Victor, Erik, Roman, Jessica, Kristina, JT and Ikey, and 5 great grandchildren; Nataly, Leanna, Anthony, Tessa, and Taylie.
