Kenneth Joel Kitchen, lovingly known as "Ken" or "Kenny" to those closest to him, passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, April 28, 2025, in Vacaville, California, surrounded by his beloved family. He was 77 years old.

Born on May 23, 1947, in Richmond, California, Kenny lived a life defined by hard work, deep loyalty, and unwavering love for his family. A man of many talents, Kenny worked in various trades throughout his life—from turning wrenches as an automotive mechanic to  working in construction.

Among his proudest contributions was his eleven years of honorable service in the United States Navy, during which he did several tours to Vietnam.

Kenny found joy in life's simple pleasures. He could often be found immersed in a good western novel, spending time at the bowling alley, working on race cars or working tirelessly on creative projects around the house—each a testament to his ingenuity and hands-on approach. He was also a comedian in life. You could always depend on him to provide a never ending supply of hilarious one-liners.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol; his daughter, Maria Christina Christianson; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Kai Nunogawa; and his cherished grandsons, Kason and Orion Nunogawa. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Fred Aichinger, and niece and nephew, Kristy and James Aichinger.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Coralee Kitchen, and his sister, Linda Aichinger.

His legacy of strength, kindness, and craftsmanship lives on in those who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Service will be at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at 1:00pm 03 Oct 2025
