Obituary

Leanne L. Basden
September 12, 1965 – December 12, 2025

Leanne Leslie Basden passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 60. She was known affectionately by many as Lean, Anners, and Auntie Dearest, names that reflected the love and closeness she shared with her family and friends.

Leanne was born on September 12, 1965, to her mother, Carol Seeley, who preceded her in death. She was a proud graduate of Vacaville High School and continued her education with two years of college coursework.

Throughout her career, Leanne was known for her strong work ethic, leadership, and dedication. She worked extensively in the retail industry, holding positions with JCPenney, Solano Office Supply, the Oneida Factory Outlet, and Waldenbooks, before concluding that chapter of her career as a District Manager for Borders Books. Later, she transitioned into the healthcare field, where she served as a personal assistant to her employer and dear friend, Mary Kay, a role she carried out with care, loyalty, and compassion.

Outside of her professional life, Leanne found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of home and family. She loved reading, decorating for the holidays, cooking, hosting gatherings, playing cards, and bringing loved ones together for family events. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and welcome.

Leanne is survived by her devoted husband, Richard H. Basden II; her children, Richard Basden III, Christian Basden, and Olivia Basden; her cherished granddaughter, Aaliyah Basden; and her sisters, Dawn Hightman and Kim Viray. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose presence will be deeply missed.

Leanne's legacy lives on through the love she gave so freely, the memories she created, and the family she held so dear.
