Luz Viccina, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on October 16th, 2024, at the age of 97.  "Mamá Luz," as she was affectionately known, is at peace after a long life, and she will live on in the hearts of all whose lives she touched.  Born Luz Angélica Ordozgoity Dávila in Iquitos, Perú on August 12th, 1927, she moved to Lima at age 12 to attend boarding school.  After graduating and working as a secretary, she married Alfredo Viccina Rivas and became a homemaker.  Throughout her life, she thrived on helping others and giving back to her community, including organizing a community park in the Benavides neighborhood of Lima that still stands today.  Although her demeanor was sometimes serious, she had an infectious smile and sense of humor, bringing warmth and laughter to family and friends alike.  She is survived by her children Doris Rakitan, Teresa Viccina, Lita Viccina, Luisa Richter, Alfredo Viccina, and Alicia Viccina, as well as by her grandchildren Eduardo Pajares, José Luis Richter, Danika Escano, Paula Richter, Katia Guzmán, Rebecca Riley, Timothy Rakitan, John T. Rakitan, and Sarah Marie Spaulding, and her great-grandchildren Valeria, Sofía, and Natalia Pajares, Nicholas Smith, Jr. and Angelina Escano, Hector and Javier Guzmán, and Ruby Riley.  May she rest in peace.

Luz Viccina, querida esposa, madre, abuela, y bisabuela, falleció el 16 de octubre de 2024, a la edad de 97 años.  Conocida por todos como "Mamá Luz," vivió una vida distinguida por el amor y cariño que mostró a su familia, sus amigos, y su comunidad.  Nacida el 12 de agosto de 1927 en Iquitos, Perú, Luz Angélica Ordozgoity Dávila se trasladó  a Lima bajo la tutela de Manuel Cúsis Dávila (Tato) y donde estudió la secundaria en un internado. Después de graduarse, trabajó como secretaria hasta que se casó con Alfredo Viccina Rivas.  Durante toda su vida, Luz Viccina fue una presencia sólida en su comunidad, encargándose de proyectos como organizando a los vecinos para desarrollar un parque público en el barrio Benavides que hasta hoy existe.  Aunque su comportamiento a veces era serio, tenia una sonrisa contagiosa y un sentido del humor que aportaba calidez y sonrisas a familia y amistades.  Quedará en la memoria de todos los que la queremos.  Mamá Luz es sobrevivida por sus hijos Doris Rakitan, Teresa Viccina, Lita Viccina, Luisa Richter, Alfredo Viccina, y Alicia Viccina, y también por sus nietos Eduardo Pajares, José Luís Richter, Danika Escano, Paula Richter, Katia Guzmán, Rebecca Riley, Timothy Rakitan, John T. Rakitan, y Sarah Marie Spaulding, y sus bisnietos Valeria, Sofía, y Natalia Pajares, Nicholas Smith, Jr. y Angelina Escano, Hector y Javier Guzmán, y Ruby Riley.  Mamá Luz, que en paz descanses.
