Mar 11, 1958 — Jun 7, 2024
Manuel V. Hernandez Jr. passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at David Grant Hospital following his battle with cancer. His final days were spent with his wife, Denise, his children and grandchildren, and close family members and friends.
Manny was born March 11, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas where he lived until he enlisted in the Air Force. He served in the military from January 1977 to August 1994 in the 60th Security Police Squadron. While stationed at Travis AFB he met his wife, Denise. Manny served in Operation Desert Storm and upon his return, made his home in Vacaville with his wife and two daughters, Angelica and Jessica. After retiring from the Air Force, Manny worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a track foreman until he was injured. He later began a catering company, All American BBQ. His tri-tip was very popular amongst the Travis community.
Manny's love for old cars, shed sales, and gun collecting fulfilled his spare time. He loved to talk and considered everyone a friend. He enjoyed telling jokes anytime he had an audience. His great sense of humor will be missed by all.
