Marlyn May (Wallenten) Kauk of Vacaville, CA passed away August 3, 2026, at 90 years of age. A native of Wishek, North Dakota, and 68-year resident of Richmond, CA, she relocated to Vacaville in 2019.

She was preceded in death by Bernhard Kauk, her husband of 57 years, her parents John and Bertha Wallenten, and sisters Frances Fears and Joyce Floyd. She is survived by siblings Mavis Magstadt of Concord, CA; Harlyn "Sonny" Wallenten of Gresham, OR; and Vivian Rose of Vacaville, CA.

She is also survived by sons, Myron (Miriam) of Newburgh, IN; Preston (Karen) of Cupertino, CA; Timothy (Randy) of Scottsdale, AZ; twenty-four grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Her family remember her as someone who loved to laugh; there was a sweetness in how she laughed so easily. Her grandchildren remember her rolling down the hill with them and reading them books. They remember the knitted sweaters, hats and mittens and the quilts that she made them. Marlyn loved reading, walking, bowling and dominos. She played Scrabble to win.

Marlyn served for decades as organist at First Southern Baptist Church of San Pablo. She worked as a librarian in the Richmond Unified School District and after retirement served as a docent at the Rosie the Riveter museum in Richmond.

She was a believer in Jesus Christ and taught her sons to trust in Him as their Lord and Savior.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church, 401 West Monte Vista Avenue at Eldridge, in Vacaville, California at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 14. A gathering of friends and family will begin at 10:00 a.m. Following the Memorial service, a graveside service will be held at Sunset View in El Cerrito.
