Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beautiful mother Marty Stubbs. Marty passed away at the age of 86 due to complications of Parkinson's disease and congestive heart failure.

Born in Wytheville, VA, Marty was the third of five siblings of Charles and Marguerite Covey. During WWII, the family moved to Vallejo, CA and later to Fairfield where she graduated from Armijo High School. While there, she met and wed Billy Stubbs, and they were married for 59 years.

Marty worked and retired from the City of Fairfield. Supervising both the IT and payroll departments, she was a dedicated and enterprising career woman for her time period.

Very strong willed, yet full of fun and laughter, she was an amazing mother. Instilling good morals and values in her children, she was always there for them whether it be volunteering at numerous swim meets or joining them for ski trips, just to name a few.

During her "down-time," Marty loved to read, solve crossword and cryptoquote puzzles, garden, travel, and spend time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Lauri Brandeberry (David), son Glenn Stubbs, sisters Linda Corby and Debra Mason, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She is predeceased by siblings Fred Covey and Betty Rogers.

The family would like to extend many thanks to her caregivers at Magnolia Court and Continuum Hospice.

Per her wish, there will be no funeral service.
