Meryle Roque

November 20, 1927 – April 27, 2019

After an 8+ year courageous struggle with dementia, Meryle Irene Roque passed from this life into the arms of God on April 27, 2019.

Meryle was best known as Mom, Grammie and eventually Gram. For the past 8 years Meryle was a resident of a Memory Care unit in Vacaville, CA.

Meryle was born to the Late Thomas Earl and Julia Ann Wilson in Grand Rapids, MI. At 9 years of age, in the depths of the Great Depression, she moved with her family to Martinez, CA, where she lived until care requirements brought her to Vacaville. Meryle was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Joseph Roque, 6 siblings and their spouses, her son, Frank Jay Roque and his wife, Patricia, numerous nieces and nephews and countless lifelong friends.

She married the late Frank Joseph Roque in May of 1949. Frank and Meryle had 4 children, Linda (David Lewis), Deborah Oehrlein, Frank (Patricia) deceased, Leonard (Nancy). She is survived by 3 of her children, 11 grandchildren, Christopher Sean (Shelley), Derrick (Julie), Melissa (Nicholas), Mark (Janet), Paul (Kimmy), Justin (Cassy), Matthew (Katie), Danielle, Andrea, Frankie and Emmie. 9 great grandchildren, Abigail, Skylar, Blake, Elizabeth, Chelsea, Sierra, Christopher, Nicholas and Baby Boy Lewis.

In her life, Meryle was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, hair dresser (Virginia's beauty Parlor, Martinez), perm giver (daughter and granddaughter), bankteller (Bank of America, Martinez), hospital volunteer (Mt. Diablo Hospital, Concord), homemaker, neat freak, germ fighter, dirt buster, vacuum queen (Paramount House Vacaville, vacuuming with her walker daily!!) morals guide, nutritionist extraordinaire, and booboo kisser (to all in need). She was on an everlasting quest to understand why people did the things they did. Meryle had a lifelong passion for music and dancing. She spent many happy hours dancing at local venues. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.

A celebration of Meryle's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, May 19 ^th 2019 at Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home 524 Elmira Road in Vacaville.
