Michael David Blasco, aged 70, of Vacaville, California passed away on December 18, 2023.

Mike was born to Jean and Michael Blasco on November 19, 1953, at George Air Force Base in Victorville, California. It could be said his passion for airplanes began at birth which led him to serve in the United States Air Force for 21 years with the final rank of Master Sargent. He first worked as tactical aircraft support before transitioning to the F/FB-111 as an Aircraft Systems Technician. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. During his career with the Air Force, he earned approximately 18 awards and ribbons of distinction including the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Navy Meritorius Unit Award, and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. His love of airplanes continued after military life when he created his own business working on civilian airplanes as a mechanic. After a few years, he transitioned to working for the Federal Aviation Administration. He was an FAA Principal Inspector for 21 years, before retiring in 2015.

Mike was a dedicated and devoted family man. He is survived by his wife, Christina, and their three children, Keith; Mark and his spouse, Mary; Candy and her spouse, Bruce. He was a loving grandfather to seven grandchildren – Lily (passed in 2022), Natalie, Zachary, Nicholas, Katherine, Vincent and Benjamin. He has three siblings, Marci and her spouse, Daniel (passed in 2021); Tom and his spouse, Carol; Mark and his spouse, Connie; and stepmother, Marianne. His mother, Jean, passed away in 1991 and his father, Michael, passed away earlier this year.

Mike was a hardworking and dedicated citizen of his country, a loyal husband, father, son, grandfather and brother. The military taught him much, especially the quality of always having a plan, a back-up plan and a back-up plan to the back-up plan. A favorite catch phrase he loved to say over and over is "planning and preparation; preparation and planning". He enjoyed camping in his RV and fishing, as well as traveling with the PT cruiser club where he and his wife participated in numerous parades (and won many awards such as most patriotic car!) while travelling the country. Mike always made time for family, fellow vets - spending time visiting with them wherever he went - and anyone that needed a helping hand.  Mike's presence will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Mike will be having a military funeral with honors at a private ceremony for immediate family only.
