Obituary

MSgt David A. Parkhurst, USAF (Retired) passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 15, 2019.  He is survived by his wife, Rose; son, Jay-R; and daughter, Michelle; as well as his sisters and brothers, Sheri Balzer, Kathy Leader, Jim Parkhurst, Debi Parkhurst, John Parkhurst and Diane Yoha; step-mother Nadine Parkhurst; and his family by choice, Maria de Gloria Marcatto.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Mikayla, Jayvien Jax, and Jayson Mac.  His cherished nieces, nephews, goddaughter and friends will miss him greatly.  He was preceded in death by his father, Earl C. Parkhurst Jr, and mother, Lolita Parkhurst.

After 20 years in the Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic and Crew Chief for C-5 Galaxys and C-141 Starlifters, he retired at Travis AFB, CA. David then became a Computer and Networking Engineer at Seagate Technology.  In the latter part of his life, he was content to be a loving husband, father, grandpapa, uncle, and brother.  He loved to spend time with his family; his bird, Zola; his dog, Tater Tot; and playing Rift and other computer games.

His loss impacts us all.  His kind, loving and generous soul will be forever missed.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.

Graveside service will be held August 5, 2019 at 10:00 at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd, Dixon, CA 95620.
