Purita, as she was lovingly called, was born in Manila, Philippines to her parents Pedro and Maxima Padilla. She was raised and lived in Sta. Mesa, Manila. She met her husband, Wendell, while he was stationed at Clark AB, Philippines. They were married in 1960 and returned to California, her husband's home state after he completed his military service. They settled in Rodeo and later Vacaville, CA.

Purita was a loving, devoted wife of 60 years until Wendell's passing in 2021. She was a nurturing mother and grandmother, instilling many life lessons through her Filipino culture and traditions. She was a dedicated homemaker, caring for and raising her family with much love and laughter. She had a soft spot for her furry family members that she also loved and cared for over the years…Sam, Snoopy, King, Gypsy, Mickey, Shorty, Tara, Belle, Chico, Gracie, Elvis, Liberty, Misty, and Bailey. Purita enjoyed many interests over the years to include camping/fishing/crabbing and social gatherings with family; playing mahjong and card games with friends; she was an avid bingo player and looked forward to her casino trips. She enjoyed her road trips, traveling to Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Kansas, Idaho, Missouri, Pennsylvania, New, Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, Virginia, the Carolinas and all the sights to be seen along the way. Many momentos were collected over the years! She will be remembered fondly for her cooking skills and hospitality, always making sure you had enough to eat and then some. Everyone looked forward to family gatherings for they knew Purita was bringing her trademark lumpia!

Purita was of the Catholic faith; she knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior and prayed that her family would also. She was so proud and celebrated the milestones and accomplishments of her family and the steadfast supporter during times of disappointment; one of her own biggest milestones was when she took the oath and was sworn in as a US citizen. Purita will be fondly remembered as "momma", "mom", "Nanay", "Grandma", "Lola", "Pur" and "Ate" by her close family and friends.

Purita was predeceased by her parents Pedro and Maxima Padilla, her husband Wendell Coleman; and grandson Alex Powell. She is survived by her children, daughter Peggy Maksin (Joe), sons Greg Coleman and Oliver Padilla (Lorinda); granddaughter, Lauren Trerotola (Jason); great grandchildren (Anthony, Blake, Leo and Vincent); many other relatives to include brother & sister in law; nieces and nephews in the states and Philippines.
