Ray Rasmussen, 81, of Vacaville passed away on Sun. 8/20/17. He was born in Loomis, CA to the late Markey and Vivian Cline Rasmussen. Mr. Rasmussen was a graduate of Placer High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, retired Truck Driver and Teamster Field Representative with over 40 years of service. He also enjoyed life as a Reserve Captain, Sacramento County Sheriff's for over 30 years.

He was a big sports fan of Sacramento Kings and Monarchs. He enjoyed coaching football, baseball, and basketball for his children and grandchildren. He loved motorcycle riding and a member of the Blue Knights Club, camping, hunting, and cooking for all.

Mr. Rasmussen is preceded in death by three brothers, Fredrick, Richard, and Chester; son, Larry Rasmussen; and granddaughter, Mikayla Murphy.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Daryl McCready Rasmussen; one brother, Bob (Neva) Rasmussen; eight children, Chris (Melba) Rasmussen, Bob (Dorothy) Rasmussen, Barry (Terri) Rasmussen, Robin (Angie) Rasmussen, Brian Rasmussen, Darla (Paul) Williams, Dawna (Mike) Murphy, Shanna (Bob) Ballard; 18 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm, on Thur. 8/24/2017 at Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home, 524 Elmira Road, Vacaville, CA 95687 followed by services from 1:00 to 2:00. Burial at 2:30pm Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery, 522 Elmira Road, Vacaville, CA 95687.
