Raymond Leroy Young, born on July 28, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Byron and Lucille Young, passed away on June 28, 2025. He grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1959. After high school, Ray joined the Air Force and served in Vietnam. Following his military service, he worked for the California Department of Corrections at CMF for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant.

Ray was a dedicated member of the Loyal Order of Moose for 40 years, holding all the posts at the Vacaville Lodge, where he met his beloved wife, Bonnie. They moved to Redding in 2001 to help raise Bonnie's three granddaughters. After Bonnie's passing, Ray returned to Vacaville.

Ray is survived by his son David Young, daughter Nadine Young Higbee, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and 8 brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bonnie, and his brother Jim.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, 6585 Gibson Canyon Rd, Vacaville, from 12-3pm. Burial will take place on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the Sacramento Veterans Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd, Dixon, California, at 10am.
