RITA ANN AUBERT MICJENKA

Rita passed away peacefully from natural causes on November 16, 2017.

Rita was born at home in Louisville, KY, on February 12, 1933 to Joseph L. and Frances L. Drury. She joined her big brother Frank, and would eventually be the big sister to four sisters (Patsy, Mary, Kathleen, Marjorie) and one brother (David). The Drury family of five moved to California in 1939, traveling on a Greyhound Bus for three days; they arrived in Richmond in July. After living in Berkeley for a few years, the family moved into their new home in North Oakland. Rita is a 1950 graduate of Holy Names High School in Oakland.

Rita is predeceased by her parents, daughter Debra Sue Bailey (1958), son Edward J. Aubert, Jr. (2001), daughter Suzanne Harding (2017), brother Frank Drury (USAF ret.) (1983), sisters Patricia Empey (2007) and Marjorie Holmin (2017) and husband John P. Micjenka, Jr. (USAF ret.) (2005). She is survived by her daughters Patti Connolly, Renee Lang Henley (JR), Christine Aubert Downs (Billy); grandchildren Sara Sanchez (TC), Edward Lang (Lizzie), Morgan Lang (Nathan), Brittany Aubert (Steve Chiavelli), and Sydney Aubert; loving daughter-in-law Noelle Aubert; great-grandchildren Jacob (Amaneet), Cheyenna, Candace Newman, and Sky Sanchez; brother David Drury and sisters Mary Reiley (Dan), Kathleen Reiley (Bob), and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

After moving to Vacaville in 1968, Rita worked at Vaca Bowl and Basic American Foods in Vacaville from 1968 to 1986, Multi-Vision Cable TV in Fairfield from 1987 to 1999, and the City of Fairfield from 2000 to 2010, when she retired at the age of 77.

During her working years Rita was able to meet many wonderful friends and co-workers who have been close friends; her life was enriched by these friendships. The love she received from them was always deeply appreciated and returned to them.

We would like to thank Dawn Rucinski, Angelica and Sreeja from Kindred Hospice for the excellent and loving care our Mother received from them.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 16 th at 1PM at St. Joseph Church, Vacaville. Graveside interment will be private.
