Rita Mae Long Johnson, 74, passed away January 17, 2023, in Vacaville, California.  Rita was the first of twelve children born to the late Mr. Odis Long Sr. and Mrs. Cleo Long and preceded in death by her younger brother, Charles Anthony Long and daughter-in-love, Andrea Moorer.

She attended Holy Angels Catholic School and Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Rita loved the Lord and her family and enjoyed singing with her siblings as well as singing in the choir at Church of the Living God.   She was part of the Rose Short Singers who performed gospel concerts at church and in the Indianapolis area. She loved fashion and pursued a modeling career that relocated her to Northern California.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vacaville where she continued to sing during worship service and at other events around the area.

She worked at Underground Construction Company in Benicia, California until her retirement.

Rita is survived by her sons James Moorer Jr. and Mark Moorer; granddaughters; Airiana Moorer, Lacey Moorer and Olivia Moorer, great granddaughter; Asiah Moorer, siblings; Theresa Lee, Lois Bacon, Linda Long, Shelia Lovejoy (Henry), Odis Long, Jr. (Beth), Terry Ratcliff (Darrell), Paul Long (Janet), David Long (Rhonda), Anna Grubbs (Wayne), Monica Ivey and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friends.

A private family service was held January 20, 2023, in Vacaville, California.
