In Loving Memory of Riza T. Retome

Riza T. Retome, 66, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2026.

Born in the Philippines, Riza lived a life centered around family, creativity, and caring for those she loved. She will be remembered as a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence touched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Riza had a wonderfully creative spirit and found joy in making things with her own hands. She loved to cook and bake, sharing her creations with the people around her. A gifted artist, she enjoyed sketching and coloring, and in recent years discovered a love for diamond painting, patiently creating beautiful and intricate pieces. Riza also had a deep love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Whether through art, music, or the food she lovingly prepared, creativity was an important part of who she was and one of the many ways she brought beauty and warmth into her home and the lives of her family.

Above all, Riza was deeply devoted to her family. She shared an especially meaningful bond with her mother, Teresita, for whom she lovingly served as a primary caregiver. Her dedication, patience, and care reflected the love she carried for her family throughout her life.

Riza was preceded in death by her father, Rogelio Retome, and her brothers, Ranelo Retome and Rodrigo Retome, whom she now joins in eternal rest.

She leaves behind her beloved mother, Teresita Retome; her sisters, Rodora Zucker of Sparks, Nevada, and Rowena Pascua of Vacaville, California; her brothers-in-law, Jeff Zucker of Sparks, Nevada, and Jose Sotto Pascua of Vacaville, California; and her sister-in-law, Susan P. Retome of Biñan, Laguna, Philippines.

Riza was also a cherished aunt to Aleli Pascua of Fairfield, California, Jose Miguel Pascua, Jose Gabriel Pascua, and Alora Pascua of Vacaville, California; Laura Nicole Gardner of Davis, California; Shaun Gardner of Yulee, Florida; and Roger Jan Retome, Rodney April Retome, and Roxanne June Retome of Biñan, Laguna, Philippines.

She was a beloved grand-aunt to Aialani Renee Eklof of Yerington, Nevada; Alastar Hayes Lampkin and Axel Jona Lampkin of Fairfield, California; Ethan Rodrigo Navarro of Davis, California; Griffin Gardner, Hazel Gardner, and Abel Gardner of Yulee, Florida; and Ranelo Isaac V. Retome of Biñan, Laguna, Philippines.

To her family, Riza was more than a daughter, sister, aunt, or grand-aunt. She was part of the fabric that held generations of her family together. Her love could be found in the meals she prepared, the music she played, the things she created, the care she gave, and the countless ordinary moments that now carry extraordinary meaning.

Though her passing leaves an immeasurable absence in the lives of those who loved her, the life Riza lived will continue through the family she cared for, the memories they shared, and the beautiful things she left behind.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

May she rest peacefully, reunited with her father and brothers, and forever held in the hearts of those who love her.
