In Loving Memory of
Ronald Torda
November 10, 1945 - February 6, 2025

Ronald Torda, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully after a courageous seven year battle with illness. He was born on November 10, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio to Helen and Francis Torda. He is survived by his devoted wife of more than 50 years, Heidi, daughter Erin Moore, son-in-law Steven Moore, and grandchildren Madeline and Robert Moore. He leaves behind many relatives including a niece and cousins that were very important to him.

In addition Ron is survived by his niece Kimberly Weldon LoPiccolo and his cousins, Robert McGee, Jeff and Mary Beth Magyar, Lisa Magyar, Kathy Magyar, Lori Magyar, Michelle Fisher, Robert Magyar, Rebecca Magyar, Waldo, Allison Magyar, Mitchell and Mason Inman, Michael Magyar, Stephanie, Vickery, and, Jennifer Hartman Straley.

Ronald was a graduate of Xavier University where his athletic talent as a football player earned him high praise. He was also a drummer in the university band. After college, Ronald courageously enlisted as a Lieutenant in the United States Army to serve his country in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery in combat.

A man of deep faith, Ronald was a longtime member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Vacaville, California, and an active member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. His Catholic faith was a guiding force throughout his life, shaping his values and his dedication to serving others.

For over 30 years Ronald lived in Vacaville where he built a successful career selling heavy machinery for construction across northern California. He was known for his honesty, strong work ethic and his unwavering integrity. After retirement, Ronald proudly served as a mentor for troubled veterans facing court proceedings.

Ronald had a deep love for farm life. He spent his summers working on the Magyar family farm, a tradition he continued through adulthood. The farm was a special place for him where he felt most at peace, enjoying the hard work and camaraderie of his cousins. Above all Ronald was a loving and dedicated husband, father and provider. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family whether working on the farm or simply enjoying the moments that made life meaningful. His kindness, strength and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A viewing will be held for Ronald on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Vaca Hills Chapel funeral home in Vacaville, CA. Funeral mass, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Vacaville March 6, 2025 at 11:00 am. Burial, Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. Reception to follow.
