Obituary

Retired Master Sergeant Roy Coleman, U.S. Air Force, passed away on the evening of April 17, 2018 in Fairfield, California. He was born in Winnsboro, SC on November 26, 1947 to Charlie and Bernice Coleman.Roy was a graduate of Winnsboro High School and went on to receive a Bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University. Roy retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He then went on to be a mail carrier for over 30 years in Benicia and a shop steward for N.A.L.C. in Benicia. Roy could often be found enjoying cognac while smoking his JR Cigars in the garage. He loved life and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Roy leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 43 years, Evelinda; daughter, Jasmin Coleman Uehling; grandson, Alexander Wenceslao; granddaughter, Lauren Audrey Uehling; mother, Bernice Young Coleman; brother, Johnny Coleman; sisters, Betty Simmons, Jannie Davis, Linda Cochran and Arleen Irby (Floyd); uncle, Costello Young; aunt, Mary Gaither; sister-in-law, Janie; He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Coleman; brother, Wilbur Coleman; in laws, Romana Cailon and Marcial Cailon Sr.

There will be a viewing for Roy on Tuesday, April 24th from 5-8 P.M. at Vaca Hills Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 25th at the Twin Peaks Chapel located on Travis A.F.B. He will be laid to rest at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
