Samuel Sims Jr. was born in New York in 1940.

Sam was united in marriage to Lynetta Sims (deceased) in 1968. In 1969, Lynetta and Samuel made their home in Hawaii while raising 6 children.

Sam spent 28 years as a proud member of the United States Navy.  After retirement, he continued to support the veteran community working at the VA hospital.  He loved to cook, bowl and was involved in his church as an usher and in the men's choir.  Sam was also a member of the Vallejo Masons where he served for many years.

Siblings: Rita Cammack-Sims, Charles Sims(deceased), Henry Sims, James Sims, Pauline Walley-Sims, George Sims (deceased), Julia Sims, Lois Hamilton-Sims, Donna Alexander-Sims, Lisa Sims (deceased)and many nieces and nephews.

Children: Debra Pahio (deceased), Lynell Green, Jack Sims, Martin Sims, Sydney Sims (deceased), and Lois Anderson.

Grandchildren: Lucinda Sims, Ana Pahio, Lopaka Pahio, Miko Ruiz, Kimo Ruiz, Jack Sims, Pedro Reyes and Terrance Sims.

Great Grandchildren: Shanice Sims, Cornelius Marsh III, Tianna Marsh, Jayden Sims, Malikai Pahio, Maddixx Pahio, Mai'le Pahio-Stewart, Mai'kole Pahio, Leilani Pahio, Makaila Pahio, Isaiah Sims, Hezekiah Sims.

Great-Great Grandsons: Demario Sims and Adrian Sims.

A Viewing will be held for Samuel Sims, Jr. on May 28, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. at Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home; 524 Elmira Road in Vacaville, CA.

A Graveside Service to follow on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 1:15 P.M. at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery; 5810 Midway Road in Dixon, CA.
