Shirley Ann Abel-Hashman, 78, of Suisun City, California, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after an extended and courageous battle with dementia.

Born on January 26, 1947, in Napa, California, Shirley was the only child of Kenneth and Maxine. She attended San Jose Bible College and the Computer Learning Center in San Francisco before working many years in sales and customer service for Montgomery Ward, JCPenney, Best Buy, and Team Chevrolet.

Faith and family were central to Shirley's life. Her lifelong devotion to worship began in her youth as an active member of the Bible Club in high school. Over the years, she continued to serve her community through the Napa Assembly, the Order of Rainbow for Girls, and the Bydotwanho Youth Group at First Christian Church. She was a devoted member of Crossroads Christian Church and Napa Valley Christian Church, where her faith continued to guide and inspire her throughout her life.

She was a loving mother to Charity McCarty, Dennis (Christiana) McCarty, Chris McCarty, and Tami (Marcus) Ledbetter, Jr., and she deeply cherished her nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Shirley found joy in travel, country music, and time spent with family and friends.
