* Vicky Gayle Hedrick (née Missildine), 69

Vicky Gayle Hedrick, 69, passed away peacefully with the love of her life by her side on August 28, 2025, in Vacaville, California after an extended battle with dementia. Born on January 16, 1956, in Longview, Texas, she lived a vibrant and multifaceted life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Vicky graduated from Pinole Valley High School in 1974 and went on to explore a wide array of careers that reflected her adventurous spirit and tireless work ethic. A true "Jane of all trades," she tried her hand at many careers. Over the years she drove school buses and chauffeured limousines with equal ease, tended bar with charm and warmth, and spent many years working in the auto industry as a quality control inspector. Her favorite jobs were usually in retail where she could both shop and work with equal attention. Her professional journey was as diverse as it was inspiring.

While Vicky wore many hats throughout her life, none brought her more joy than being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband Donald G. Hedrick. A devoted mother she is survived by her children: Crystal Gayle Hedrick-Williams (Lennis Hedrick Williams), Tamara Nichole Ewert (Carl E. Ewert), Donald Jeremiah Hedrick and Morgan Lee Thompson Hedrick. Her greatest pride came from her role as "Oma" to her beloved grandchildren: Paige Nichole Ewert, Aliya Marie Hedrick, Tessa Gayle Ewert, and Carl Fillip Ewert.

Vicky's beloved family extended beyond her immediate household she is survived by her brother Samuel David Wilson, her sisters Mary Shannon Wilson, Marla Pruitt, Toni Slattery and Sherry Wilson. Numerous nieces and nephews and many others who were touched by her kindness and devotion as an adored wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to so many who will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her mother Frances Derline Wilson her devoted stepfather Leroy Wilson and her biological father Foy Dale Missildine as well as her sisters Deborah Kay Missildine and Holley Jane Eichner.

A natural athlete with an infectious laugh and generous heart, Vicky loved playing softball and embraced every opportunity to be active. Her energy was matched only by the depth of her spirituality— that guided her through life's joys and challenges.

Above all else, Vicky found profound fulfillment in being a grandmother. Her role as Oma was not just a title but a calling she embraced wholeheartedly. Whether cheering from the sidelines or offering quiet support at home, she poured boundless love into every moment spent with her cherished grandchildren.
