Vicky "Twinks" was born in Detroit, Michigan and lived most of her adult life in California. She was the daughter of John and Victoria (Dawidowicz) Yanowsky. She graduated from Redford Union High School in Redford Township, Michigan and attended several junior colleges. 

She was married to Ken Boman, her high school sweetheart, and they had four children: Sandy, Debby, Holly, and Skip. Years later they divorced. She later married Richard Carr. They enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii. They were married at Trinity Church by-the-Sea, Kihei, Maui and traveled back as often as possible. They loved all the islands, but especially Maui; it felt like home -"ohana." 

Vicky started working as a stenographer at the Detroit Edison Company, and later for the Benicia Unified School District. She also worked for Bank of America, Redwood Bank, and Citicorp. Her last job was for the Clorox International Company, first at the Tech Center in Pleasanton and later at their corporate headquarters in Oakland. 

As her kids were growing up she was involved with Brownies, Girl Scouts, and was a Sunday School teacher at St. Paul's Church in Benicia. 

She and Rich retired to Oro Valley, Arizona and loved the "warm" weather. They made a lot of good friends in the 12 years they lived there. They later moved back to California to be near their families since both were having serious health issues. Vicky lived her life battling M.S. She always made an attempt to do everything, although M.S. made her do it slower.

Vicky is survived by her children: Sandy (Steve) Craig, Debby Boman, Holly Boman, and Skip Boman; grandchildren Natalie and Julie Craig, and Alana and Kai Boman; her brother Larry (Mary) Yanowsky; her sisters-in-law Bobbie Jo Hurst, Gloria Warren, and Debbie (Jim) Briney; and many nieces and nephews. 

Vicky loved the beach from an early age and could spend hours listening to the waves, trying to find seashells, or watching a sunset. She loved flowers, especially Hawaiian tropical flowers, gardening, decorating, and traveling. Growing up as an "Army Brat," she had been in many states by an early age. Her father, Major John L. Yanowsky, was stationed all over the South. This instilled in her a deep love for the Southern states and their food. She enjoyed meeting new people wherever she went. She was always proud of her Polish and Russian heritage and loved the state she was born in - Michigan - especially in the fall, with the leaves turning color and fresh apple cider.
